WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Food trucks that were contracted to provide catering service at the Live Oak Pavilion and Greenfield Lake Amphitheater concert venues earlier in the week have been ordered to cease operations by NHC Environmental Health.
New Hanover County Environmental Health has been advised that DLS Events, LLC, the company contracted to handle catering service at both venues, has two food trucks operating at the Live Oak Pavilion as part of an event tuesday.
Environmental Health Services Manager Alicia Pickett said environmental health staff visited the Live Oak Pavilion on Wednesday to ensure that these food trucks had the required permits to operate in New Hanover County.
Staff noted that one truck was still on site and not in use, and the other had moved to the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater for another event.
Staff requested proof of a permit from the truck at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater where the operators were set up for an event on Wednesday.
Pickett said when the trucker was unable to provide a license issued by New Hanover County, he was asked to cease operations.
“New Hanover County has not issued any of these food trucks a mobile food unit permit and these trucks will not be allowed to operate in the county until they receive one,” Pickett said in an email.
DLS Events, LLC is not a local supplier; however, Pickett said these food trucks could have been licensed to operate in other counties, but were unable to produce the required permits at the time.
