Baltimore pop-punk group All Time Low released a statement in response to allegations made against guitarist Jack Barakat in a viral TikTok video.
Hailed as somehow managing to be among the few seemingly decent guys in a pop-punk scene awakened by the #MeToo movement, the band’s reputation is the latest to start to fall apart. However, they remain adamant that the accusations of “inappropriate behavior” with underage girls are “absolutely and unequivocally false.”

In a statement posted to social media today, Barakat, frontman Alex Gaskarth, bassist Zack Merrick and drummer Rian Dawson responded as a group.
Although they did not specify the nature of any of the allegations, they did mention a TikTok video posted earlier this month – alluding to “inappropriate behavior” within their camp – which has since gained even more ground. ground. All Time Low explained that they had previously chosen not to respond “due to glaring inconsistencies in the story.”
The group expressed concern that responding sooner may have “elevated and intensified” what they called an “outright lie.” They felt that this would have “deprived the real victims of abuse of their very real and very important collective voice.”
“We are on the side of the victims. We have always wanted to cultivate and maintain a culture around our shows and our group that is welcoming, healthy and safe,” they continued in the statement. “It is with this in mind that we must state with absolute certainty that what is said about us is completely and utterly false.”
The group added that they were investigating the source of the allegations and seeking legal recourse, concluding:
It is difficult and disheartening to have to make this statement knowing that the allegations against our camp are completely unfounded and false, but at this point it is of the utmost importance to us that you know that we are hearing from you, we are supporting the victims and we collectively support for the truth.
TikTok user mini.grew hasn’t named any names in his since-deleted video, which appears with the text, “Me telling everyone how a famous pop punk band let me get on their bus when I was 13 and people tell me how good it was of them .-. ” – but she did refer to some All Time Low song titles like “Poppin ‘Champagne” and “Kids in the Dark” when responding to comments.
