Award-winning acoustic guitarist Marc Atkinson brings Trio to Rossland

The Trail & District Arts Council brings award-winning acoustic music Marc Atkinson trio at Rossland Miners’ Hall on October 20 and 21 for two evenings of jazz, folk and roots music.
Marc Atkinson is an expert acoustic guitarist described as “… a remarkable guitarist … innovative and dazzling”. Founding member of the super Canadian roots / acoustic music group, The bills, it is a Juno-nominated and won two Western Canadian Music Awards, including a nomination for Outstanding Album.
Marc’s internationally renowned acoustic group, The Marc Atkinson trio, is described as “one of the top ten active string trios in the world”. Their album, “Marc Atkinson Trio II”, was voted one of the top five albums in North America by Acoustic Guitar Magazine.
In this performance, Marc’s trio includes Jody Rutherford on guitar and Scott White on bass. The group is also joined by Cameron Wilson, a violinist and composer known for his virtuosity that transcends genres and his almost limitless musical creativity. A member of Van Django and the Joe trio, Cameron recorded with everyone from Bryan adams To Spirit of the West.
On this show, the band will perform fun, classic and recognizable pieces, including songs such as âBoiler Makerâ and âCaravan,â which will thrill audiences and showcase their skills as musicians.
