Curtis Stigers has announced the release of his new album, This life, which will be released on Emarcy / Universal Music on February 22. The record sees Stigers revisit their hits with reimagined versions of classic songs including “I Wonder Why”, “You’re All That Matters To Me”, (What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding “and more.

“I don’t tend to look back a lot, musically speaking,” Stigers says in the album’s cover notes. “However, this time I decided to record songs from my previous twelve studio albums that I now play live in a very different way than I originally recorded them. The songs and arrangements grow and evolve from their recorded versions over time, as we play them again and again for audiences.

It’s been 30 years since Stigers released their self-titled debut album who stormed the charts and generated the international hits “I Wonder Why”, “You’re All That Matters To Me” and “Never Saw A Miracle”. For This life a seasoned Curtis Stigers revisited those early hits (and a few later) and gave them a jazz twist.

The repertoire includes a new version of Nick Lowe’s “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love, And Understanding”, which Stigers originally recorded in 1992 for the soundtrack of the hit film by The bodyguard with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. Also included is a new rendition of the title song, the Emmy-nominated theme song, which Curtis co-wrote and recorded in 2008 for the popular TV show. Sons of anarchy.

To coincide with the release of his new album, Stigers will also be touring the UK in February and March 2022. Visit the artist’s website official site for more information.
