Eyehategod Announces Spring North American Tour Dates
Southern mud legends Eyehategod have just announced a handful of springtime headline dates across North America. Following their current tour with Clutch, the band will hit the road with support from IV and the Strange Band beginning April 11 in Milwaukee and ending April 17 in Tulsa.
Next, Eyehategod will resume touring with live support from Bat beginning April 27 in Atlanta and ending May 7 in Portland, with appearances by Come To Grief, Escuela Grind and Snafu on select dates. Come and discover the group that Rolling Stone has dubbed one of the “great American live bands”.
EYEHATEGOD will be touring in support of their latest full-length album A History of Nomadic Behavior. The 12-track album was produced by EYEHATEGOD, Sanford Parker (YOB, VOIVOD) and James Whitten (THOU, HIGH ON FIRE), with mixing by Whitten. The band recorded at HighTower Recording and Hypercube studios. The LP artwork was created by Gary Mader and Mike IX Williams.
EyeHateGod from New Orleans is the snarling, bilious sound of dead-end America. Since 1988, they have been a soundtrack for the struggling masses. Lousy music for lousy times. It’s the feeling of disenchantment and sickness that is at the heart of their latest and sixth full-length album, A History of Nomadic Behavior.
Anyone who knows the history of EHG knows that it is survivor music, a sound in itself where Sabbatian riffs are accompanied by a caustic anger that goes beyond punk. It’s been the plan since guitarist Jimmy Bower (also of NOLA supergroup, Down) founded the band in 1988 with vocalist Michael IX Williams joining soon after. With a discography including sludge-punk stalwarts like In the Name of Suffering (1990), Take as Needed for Pain (1993) Dopesick (1996), Confederacy of Ruined Lives (2000) or the eponymous 2014 LP, released in the States United via Housecore Records, EHG laid the cracked foundation for their infamous and influential sound.
