Jarvis Cocker & Pulp 2023 reunion tour: Which concert halls could accommodate?

Sheffield Britpop legends Pulp have announced they will be reuniting for a series of shows across the UK in 2023.
The band’s lead singer, Jarvis Cocker, announced during a Q&A for his new memoir Good Pop, Bad Pop that the band will be playing shows again, the first time since their last breakup in 2013.
No date or city has yet been announced, but the band’s drummer, Nick Banks, has confirmed that the Britpop legends have compiled a list of potential dates and venues.
And in case the band stop for a gig in Leeds, there are a few different venues that could host the gig.
Sheffield sons Pulp are often considered one of the “Britpop Big Four” along with Oasis, Blur and Suede.
The group formed in 1976 and had their main success in the mid-90s during the heyday of Britpop. The band, known for their Common People hits, broke up in 2002 before reuniting for a series of gigs and festivals between 2011 and 2013.
The band’s lead singer, Jarvis Cocker, posted a cryptic message on Instagram saying, “What exactly are you doing for an encore?”, a reference to their 1998 album This Is Hardcore.
Asked about the Tweet about a Q&A hosted by the Guardian, Cocker confirmed a meeting was in the works.
The two biggest venues in Leeds, the O2 Academy and Friends Direct Arena, are both potential venues if the band plays in the nearby town. But where could the Sheffield group play?
Here’s a list of potential venues that could host Pulps’ long-awaited reunion gig in Leeds
Leeds’ biggest venue, the First Direct Arena is the obvious choice for the city’s biggest stars. The arena, inaugurated in 2013, has a capacity of 13,500 spectators.
The arena has recently hosted big stars like Dua Lipa and Kings of Leon, and has been praised for its design which has proven to provide a great view and sound for audiences wherever they are seated during a concert.
Technically not a venue, Millennium Square is located between Leeds City Museum and Civic Hall.
During the summer months, however, it transforms into an open-air concert hall filled with bars and street vendors.
This summer, artists such as BRIT Award-winning Foals and American superstars HAIM, as well as 80s legends Tears for Fears sold out. An outdoor concert as part of Pulps’ reunion tour could potentially end in Millennium Square.
Probably the busiest venue in Leeds, the 2,300 capacity O2 Academy is the perfect venue for a more intimate Pulp show. The venue has hosted a wide range of internationally acclaimed acts from all genres, including MGMT, Marina & the Diamonds and Ellie Goulding.
