Rock + Metal hit songs, but these are 8-bit Super Nintendo themes

Rock and metal have a lot in common and with Nintendo in particular. A YouTuber connected the two worlds and revamped classic songs from Iron Maiden, Slayer, Tool, Ghost, Opeth, and more, turning them into 8-bit Super Nintendo-style themes.
The Nintendo franchise is full of heavy music nods – there are characters named Reznor, Lemmy Koopa, and Wendy O. Koopa, just to note a few quick examples. Their memorable themed songs and compelling melodies are a big part of Nintendo’s enduring charm and popularity and, let’s be honest, who hasn’t tried to play the Super Mario Bros. theme song on guitar before?
YouTuber 8 Bit Musician sought to reverse this influence and reversed âThe Trooperâ, âAngel of Deathâ, âSchismâ, âCiriceâ and âBleakâ (there is more on the YouTube page; we just selected one handful of our favorites) in electronic versions that would be perfect for some side-scrolling games or exploring open-world maps in a disturbing setting.
In the vast expanse of our own imagination, it’s also fun to think of these songs like, âWhat if Kraftwerk made a rock and metal cover album? “
