Dash Guitarist Alex Lifeson’s guitars and other memorabilia will be auctioned off as part of the “Property From The Archives of Alex Lifeson” auction for Julien’s Auctions.

The legendary guitarist is set to offer up some of his prized guitars, photographs and original lyric sheets as part of this auction.

More than 60 of Alex Lifeson’s vintage guitars along with his original lyric sheets, photographs, tour ephemera and passes will be auctioned off. Some of the Rush guitarist’s guitars that will be auctioned include:

A custom-built 1976 Gibson ES-355TD “Whitey” that was played by Lifeson on every Rush tour from 1977 to 2015 and featured on albums and music videos

A 1976 Gibson Dove acoustic guitar that Lifeson used to write “Closer to the Heart”

A custom 1980 Hentor Sportscaster that Lifeson enjoyed soloing with, including the solo for the song “Limelight” and was in the music videos for “Vital”, “Countdown” and “Enemy Within”

The “Property From The Archives of Alex Lifeson” auction runs May 20-22 in New York City as well as virtually.

Earlier this month, Rush appeared as animated stars in the sketchy black comedy shared as the official music video “YYZ” for the next group Moving Pictures – 40th Anniversary collection of albums, out April 15 via UMe/Mercury and Anthem Records.

Animated by Fantoons Animation Studios, the 1981 album video features Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson as the voices behind two cops at work while an art heist ensues. The animated group performs as the story unfolds, eventually ending with Lee, Lifeson, and Neil Peart being tied up by the skilled thieves.

“Hey, Dirk, let’s go back to the station,” says Lifeson, his cop persona completely unaware of the crimes committed. Lee adds, “Awesome, got the new Rush cassette for the road.” The cassette plays a list of songs from Animated pictures which includes “Tom Sawyer”, “YYZ”, “Limelight”, and “Red Barchetta”.
